From Yan’an talks to web literature. A cultural profile of contemporary China.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the course the students will be aware of the main cultural and literary events that crossed China from the rise of Mao Zedong to today. The other aim of the course is introducing students to the reading and translating of original literary material from contemporary China.
Prerequisites
Intermediate level of Chinese required (at least 1500 characters)

Lectures, readings, discussion, translation
Type of Assessment
Oral exam and written translation to hand in at least a week before the exam.
