Course Content
The class gives theoretical and methodological tools to tackle the relationship betweeen the European integration process and social change in Europe. The main topics are: the european social model, the institutional change and innovation, social inequalities, labour markets, quality of life, migration processes, social citizenship, political participation.

Prerequisites
A good knowledge of english and a basic knowledge of european topics
Teaching Methods
Courses and seminars are interactive. Students present and discuss their work, and take part and working groups. Professors and Researchers from abroad are invited to give lessons on european topics. Website: sociologyofeurope.unifi.it

First Module:
The course focuses on the theorical and methodological debate of the social change and the integration process in Europe . The lessons deal these themes from a sociological point of view.
Second Module:
It deals with methodological issues and in-depth exploration of central themes of European society. The main topics are the european social model, the institutional change and innovation, social inequalities, life quality, labour market, citizenship, immigration and multicultural challenges.
