Economia dell’istruzione: istruzione come investimento in capitale umano, istruzione come strumento di signalling e screening, differenze di genere nell’accesso all’istruzione, rapporto tra istruzione e crescita economica con particolare riferimento ai paesi in via di sviluppo. Economia della sanità: cure per la salute e conseguimento di livelli di well-being, motivazioni dell'intervento pubblico e nozioni di equità, evoluzione di sistemi sanitari e implicazioni per i paesi in via di sviluppo.
Alla fine del corso gli studenti sono in grado di interpretare fenomeni economici riferiti ai settori dell'istruzione e della sanità usando gli strumenti analitici dell'economia pubblica.
