Course Content
Economics of Education: investment in human capital, privat and social return, education as a signalling and a screening device, gender differences in the access to education, education and growth especially with respect to less developed countries. Health Economics: reasons why the State should intervene in such a sector and the notion of equity on the basis of which national health systems should be organized, evolution of the latters with particular reference to less developed countries.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the course students are expected to be able to interpret economic phenomena referring to the educational and the health sector by using the theoretical tools provided by public economics.
